Q: The younger brother has a program that does not understand, is the program assigned to the absolute value encoder (DP configuration communication mode, 32bit multi-turn P+F). This is done in the program: DW#16#401F is loaded into the input 32BIT of the encoder during normal operation, and the loading of DW#16#401F is stopped when the absolute encoder is to be assigned. Entered DW#16#8000401F, where 401F is the loaded value. Why should I always load DW#16#401F in normal operation? When the encoder is assigned a value, DW#16#8000401F is missing. Is it 32 bits of the encoder, and how many of them are used to control the encoder? For example, the highest bit in the 32-bit encoder is used to clear the encoder value. The younger brother is a little confused here. Can the heroes answer it? In addition, how many turns can the P+F multi-turn absolute encoder do? How is it calculated?
A: Because I haven't used the encoder of Pepperl+Fuchs, I don't know what each of the double words of the specific DP communication mean. But the absolute value encoders are very similar. We often use the T+R absolute encoder to write the value to the absolute encoder, which means to calibrate the encoder. Usually the value to be written to the encoder must trigger a bit of the control word. In your encoder's view, it is the highest bit of DW#16#8000401F. When this position is set, the encoder can be written. Resetting this bit does not allow the absolute encoder to be written. DW#16#401F This double word means the control word in normal operation, and may also contain status word. The specific meaning you can see in the following communication chapter of this encoder, get the meaning of each person in the DP communication. Because it is rarely used by Beckhoff.
